Aislyn is a collaborative writing project between Sofia and Ian Hultquist, who have been working together since meeting in Boston, in 2007. Spawning from a common interest in film scoring and electronic music, the two have been begun to create a sound that holds true to their name. Aislyn, which means 'dream' in Gaelic, have released their debut self-titled EP of electronically soundscaped indie pop.
Most often referred to as cosmic-pop noir, Aislyn's songs may not resemble the happy-go-lucky works of Ian's other project, Passion Pit, however, with the help of their live drummer Joey Sulkowski (Death Set, Yes Giantess, Secret Music), Aislyn's music still entices crowds into frantic dance-offs.
As well as constantly creating new music, the band has been doing remixes and working with artists such as Freelance Whales, Neon Indian, Tokyo Police Club, and Atlas Genius.
They are currently in the process of further exploring the work of sound design and film scoring projects, while working towards a new release.
